Growing up in a small rural town, surrounded by natural beauty, fresh air, plentiful water and the ocean at the doorstep is a pretty good way to grow up. Easy to live an uncomplicated, simple life. Neither rich nor poor, but always having enough. Easy not to think about anything but our own comfortable universe.
Ideally, that’s a right all children should have.
That’s how we, Dave Howe and Ina Timmer grew up, across the street from each other in a small community on Vancouver Island, one of the most beautiful parts of the world. It’s not that we didn’t learn about the problems in the world as we got older, that other countries and other people were not as fortunate, but unless a person sees these things first hand, it’s difficult to empathize.
When we got back together, Dave decided Ina needed to see Mexico.
It was the beginning of Greenangels and working towards a triple bottom line economy. People, planet, profit.
We’ll tell the stories about our adventures and experiences in a series of blogs. Stories about how we met the good people behind Seawatch, how we learned about Christina Fast’s amazing foundation, how we helped Jane with her Africa Mercy Ship goal and many more. We’ll talk about good companies doing good things for the planet and good people changing lives for the better. We’ll feature opportunities where you can make an impact, whether you volunteer, donate or invest.
We hope you’ll join us.
